The colors of this ketubah are that of Jerusalem the city, its geography and rock. At sunset the rock takes on a golden hue, which is the basis of this works palette. Above the text, placed within a arch is the Jewish symbol the menorah, representing eternal light, hope and wisdom. Vignettes around the piece depict Jerusalem of old, from arched and colonnaded corridors, to a hillside vista and a stained glass window at the bottom. The patterning is based on mosaics made from the colored stones of the Judean desert.
