Babel is usually depicted in its final stages of construction from the outside. In this work I was propelled to explore the fall of Babel from within the structure. My sense of humor led me to place a crane in the middle of the building, I enjoy screwing with history. The people of Babel were emersed in the decorating stage of the building process. Due to miscommunication, on the part of just about everyone, a wrecking ball is sent flying in the wrong direction, bringing down columns which led to the implosion of the ceiling and roof.
My interpretation of the biblical text, leads me to surmise that the confusion was not just caused by the misunderstanding of spoken language, but a lack of certainty between stated and imagined goals.
