I am telling a story of differences.
A tale of human beings living out their dreams, fantasies, simple pleasures and angst.
All to be found and nurtured in the walls of a hotel room, in a hotel that promises its guests utopia.
Autumn leaves change colors
floating on the wind falling to the ground.
The evening air is still warm and
I paint Hotel Utopia, from across the garden.
Two floors of windows offer the voyeur
a view into the private lives of the hotel’s guests.
From the always delightful view of a half-naked woman
in red panties
to a bald fellow aiming a revolver at a target,
unseen.
A young girl blows out the birthday candles on her cake,
friends gather around to watch the game,
a lone woman puts brush to canvas,
while partiers dance the evening away.
The solace of Mother and child,
and a book to keep one amused.
We all have a different idea of what utopia is
and on a warm Autumn evening, we can catch a glimpse
of varied utopian moments.
