When the air still carries the coolness of the night.

It is Shabat morning, spring in Tel Aviv, when the air still carries the coolness of night, before the sun blasts its way into every corner of the city. On any other day, this hour would be filled with the sounds of traffic, people making their way to work, taxis blaring their horns, humans and their machines, energy and activity.

But today is Shabat the day when the Lord took a day off, and ordered the rest of us to take a break. The smell of coffee, my wife, her eyes still filled with mist of sleep, sips her coffee and peers out in the direction of the blue blue Mediterranean Sea.
