Raindrops adorn the windshield.
Jerusalem, the ancient seat of David, and home to two destroyed temples is the heart of Judaism, as well as significant in the Christian story. The place itself has long been deemed sacred soil, in a sacred land. Utopia is not only personal but can be and often is a shared experience. A taste of the divine in the searching soul of humankind. I have made the drive up to Jerusalem many times, often finding myself thinking about the history both ancient and modern of the road I am traveling, the rocks I am passing, as well as the sky above me which has been witness to some powerful and strange goings on. The sticker on the car reads “I love Utopia” with a red heart. The road sign informs the traveler that it is but 17 kilometers to the heart of our destination and it is raining, and raindrops adorn the windshield.
