The night sky is awash in brilliant lights.
Unimaginable numbers of stars and planets
inhabit the heavens, giving us direction,
fairy tales and something to wish upon.
While we attempt to map the sky,
the glow of the northern lights, 
and the stars
give shape to the silhouetted shape of the island,
the chair all but lost,
a lone light reflecting on the water, 
human existence in the cold emptiness of a moonless night.
